How to put iPhone into recovery mode?
My iPhone isn't working properly, and I may need to restore it. Can someone explain how to put iPhone into recovery mode for different models? I'd also like to know if it erases data and when recovery mode should be used.

To put an iPhone into Recovery Mode, connect it to a computer, then quickly press and release the Volume Up button, press and release Volume Down, and hold the Side button until the recovery mode screen appears. You can then use Finder (Mac) or iTunes (Windows) to update or restore the device.

Enter Recovery Mode with iPhone by connecting to a computer and pressing the proper buttons for your iPhone in a quick sequence, then holding the last button for the screen to display Recovery Mode. You can then use Finder or iTunes to update or restore the device.

The steps depend on your iPhone model, but for most recent iPhones, connect it to a computer, quickly press and release Volume Up, then Volume Down, and press and hold the Side button until the recovery mode screen appears. Once it's in recovery mode, your computer will let you choose to Update or Restore the iPhone. I've had to use this a couple of times when an iPhone got stuck during an update, and choosing Update first is usually worth trying since it attempts to keep your data.
