How long do solid state hard drives last?
I'm thinking about replacing my old drive with an SSD and wondering how long solid-state hard drives last under normal use. What factors affect their lifespan, and are there any tips to help them last as long as possible?

The lifespan of a solid-state drive (SSD) is usually around 5–10 years, depending on usage, write cycles, drive quality, and maintenance. Regular backups help protect important data.

Most SSDs can operate reliably for about 5–10 years, depending on usage patterns, total data written, build quality, and maintenance. Keeping backups ensures your important files remain protected if the drive fails.
