How do you know if your Mac is charging?
I recently plugged in my Mac, but I wasn't completely sure if it was actually charging. How do you know if your Mac is charging? Are there any indicators in macOS or on the battery icon that confirm it's receiving power, and what should I check if it doesn't seem to be charging properly?

You can tell your Mac is charging by checking the battery icon in the menu bar. A lightning bolt on the battery indicates charging, while a plug icon means the battery is full and connected to power. You can also click the battery icon to view the charging status and the estimated time to full charge. On some MacBook models, the charging cable's LED also indicates charging when the cable is connected properly.

Check the battery icon in the menu bar. A lightning bolt on the battery symbol indicates your Mac is connected to power and charging.

You can tell if your Mac is charging by checking the battery icon in the menu bar. A lightning bolt on the battery icon indicates the Mac is charging, while a plug icon means it's connected to power but not actively charging because the battery is already full or charging is optimized. You can also click the battery icon to view the charging status and the estimated time until the battery is fully charged.

You can tell if your Mac is charging by checking the battery icon in the menu bar. If you see a lightning bolt on the battery icon, the Mac is actively charging. If it shows a plug icon, the battery is fully charged and the Mac is running on external power. You can also click the battery icon or go to System Settings > Battery to view the charging status and battery percentage. If your Mac isn't charging, check the power adapter, cable, and power outlet to ensure everything is connected properly.
