If your external HDD suddenly stopped showing your files, stop using the drive immediately to avoid overwriting data. Check the drive on another computer or USB port, verify if it appears in Disk Management, and use trusted external HDD data recovery software to scan for lost files. If the drive makes unusual noises or isn't detected at all, seek professional data recovery services to maximize the chances of recovering your data.
